Rescue and Re-homing

As our breed expands and more and more people are interested in our wonderful Siberians, we will find that some Siberians will be displaced or abandoned. Sometimes a pet owner's situation changes unavoidably, making re-homing a necessity.

The Siberian Cat Club, with the help of its dedicated committee members has set up a dedicated Rescue and Rehome servive. The Club's aim is to find safe, loving and permanent homes for any Siberian cat that is abandoned or in need.

As well as caring for rescued cats and finding suitable homes for them we also offer a network of help and support, and up to date news via our dedicated website to generate interest. We hope this will provide a platform for pet owners to be able to see and fall in love with a rescued Siberian Cat.

Siberian's are very people orientated and form a strong bond with their owners so it is important for us to find suitable and permanent homes as quickly as possible to reduce any trauma or stress to the animal concerned. If you feel you could offer a new home to any of the cats listed in the Adoptions section below, please contact the Welfare Officer.

If you cannot offer a permanent home but are an experienced cat owner and would like to help by offering a short-term foster home to a Siberian in need please let us know so that we can call on you if and when the need arises.

If you feel you might be able to provide the loving, permanent home to a retired or rescued Siberian please contact our Welfare Officer to discuss being placed on our list of rescue homes.

The club will be asking new owners for a donation of £150 for each cat, more maybe asked for kittens and young cats. All re-homed cats will be micro chipped and remain registered to the club for 6 months until they are settled in their new home.

We are a non-profit making organisation so any donations go directly to funding the care of rescued Siberians. Some of the costs involved in our Rescue programme include transporting the cat to a foster home, food, ensuring the cat is up-to-date with it's vaccinations, microchipping and spaying. some of these can be quite expensive and even the little things add up surprisingly quickly so we are always grateful to people to support our work.

If you would like to make a donation you can send it directly to our paypal account using the email address Alternatively you can send a cheque made out to the Siberian Cat Club (please mark the cheque on the reverse 'Rescue and Rehome Donation') to our Treasurer.
